At 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 4, Christian Perez, 23, of Windsor Mill, Md., was arrested by state police after his 2015 Acura TLX struck a guard wire on I-180 West in Muncy Creek Township.

Perez had glassy, bloodshot eyes and a strong odor of alcohol, police allege.

An opened bottle of Jack Daniels was visible near the center console and Perez admitted to consuming six Corona beers and two shots of whiskey prior to driving, according to court documents.

A field sobriety test was deemed to be unsafe due to the location of the crash.

Perez had a BAC of .14.

He was charged with DUI, two summary offenses, waived his preliminary hearing and was released on $20,000 bail.

In another case, at 5:30 p.m. on June 9, Alexander Renn, 31, of the 2100 block of Little Pine Creek Road, Jersey Shore, was arrested by Lycoming Regional Police after he failed to negotiate a curve along Little Pine Creek Road, further striking a tree on the opposing traffic side, disabling the vehicle.

Renn had quiet, subdued, slightly slurred speech and admitted to having consumed three or four beers prior to driving.

He failed a field sobriety test and had a BAC of .19.

Renn was charged with DUI, a summary offense. He waived his preliminary hearing and was released on $15,000 bail.

In another case, 6:30 on Aug. 9, 2022, Carl Alford, 51, of 816 Elmira St., was arrested by Lycoming Regional Police after they received reports of a male acting strangely at Little Caesars on Lycoming Creek Road.

Upon arriving, police observed Alford standing in the parking lot bent at the hips, according to an affidavit.

During questioning, Alford acted as if he were falling asleep in the middle of conversation, according to court documents.

Alford stated that he and a friend had come to get some things and was headed home, relating that the vehicle he drove to the store was his friend’s.

Alford failed a field sobriety test and lab results were positive for multiple controlled substances.

He was charged with DUI, arraigned and released on $15,000 bail.

In another case, on May 9, Larry Stine, 50, of 5957 Lycoming Creek Road, Lot 3B, Cogan Station, was arrested after Lycoming Regional Police were called to the scene of a rollover accident in the 2100 block of North Route 15 in Old Lycoming Township, involving his 2005 Subaru Baja.

Stine, who had to be removed from the vehicle by emergency services, had dilated eyes, a strong odor of alcohol and appeared "out of it," police allege.

Stine refused lab work, however a search warrant of Stine’s medical records from the date of the accident revealed his BAC to be .20.

He was charged with DUI, a summary offense, waived his preliminary hearing, and was released on $2,500 bail.
