Paige Nicole Wright, a student at Pennsylvania College of Technology, was jailed on assault- charges after she kicked one Penn College officer in the right knee and another officer in the abdomen while in custody at the campus police station about 12:10 a.m. on Aug. 11, it was alleged in court records.

Officers were dispatched to the area of the north gate near the campus' Delaware Hall to investigate a report of two males carrying an intoxicated female, police said. "The two males dropped the female and ran away," police added. The woman was identified as Wright, 19, of Forest Hill, Maryland, and there was an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her breath, police said. She was taken to a holding area at the campus police station, 233 College Ave., and while there she pulled a fire alarm, threw a chair across the room and assaulted the two officers, it was alleged.

Following her arraignment before District William Solomon on two counts of felony aggravated assault and one count each of recklessly endangering another person, public drunkenness and underage drinking. Initially committed to the Lycoming County Prison, Wright, who will have a preliminary hearing later this month, is now free on $25,000 bail.
