Injured Montoursville high school student moving “forward with his care plan”

Five days after falling 30 feet off a ledge at Jacoby Falls in Gamble Township, Montoursville Area School District student Aiden Wallace is now "stable and strong enough to move forward in his care plan," according to an online statement that the district released Monday afternoon from the teen's family.
Wallace, 17, was critically injured in an accidental fall on Oct. 4 that took place while he and other students were on a school trip at the falls, just off of Wallis Run Road, according to the district,
Flown from the scene to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Wallace is "heading back to the operating room, so continued prayers for a successful surgery day and continued healing, pain control and recovery are greatly appreciated," the family said in their latest statement.
"We appreciate everyone who has been with Aiden from the scene to today. We would especially like to thank the nurses and doctors who have been giving wonderful around-the-clock and compassion for Aiden. His team is really wonderful" the family said.
Geisinger is not releasing a condition report on the student.
"Please know the support in prayers, privacy and every act of kindness being shown are not taken for granted and are so greatly appreciated," the family told the district. "We are so blessed and thankful to be in a community that comes together in times of need," the family said.
The district is asking students and friends "to continue to stay away from the hospital at this time so the family and Aiden's caregivers have all their focus on where it needs to be," the district said.
In an earlier statement from the district, the Wallace family said they "appreciate all of the love and prayers of support as Aiden continues his journey of recovery. He has a long road ahead of him." The family also expressed "much gratitude for the first responders and those who were with him during those very (first) critical moments."
