The holiday season kicks off this weekend at the Community Arts Center, with the performance of the Nutcracker on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 3 at 4 p.m.
The production is a collaboration of the Pennsylvania College of Technology, Lycoming College and Saint John's School of the Arts. "It is exactly what makes Williamsport a great arts community," shared Todd Kendall, director of Saint John School of the Arts.
The story tells the classic tale of a girl who falls asleep on Christmas Eve and dreams of a world where her toy Nutcracker comes to life to defend her from the Mouse King.
The Nutcracker will feature live music by Lycoming College students and local musicians and talent, involving over 200 artists of all ages. The cast will include 112 dancers ages 4 and up.
