Lycoming County seeks volunteers for boards, authorities

Several authorities and boards in the county have openings and the Lycoming County commissioners put out the call for people to apply at their weekly meeting.
There are open vacancies on the following authorities and boards: the Lycoming County Authority, Industrial Development Authority, the Assessment Appeals Board, the Human Services Advisory Board, the Planning Commission and the Zoning Hearing Board.
Information about the authorities and boards is on the county website, as well as instructions on how to apply.
"We want to thank all the individuals from the community that have served on these boards, that are serving on these boards and are interested in serving on these boards," said Commissioner Scott Metzger.
"Obviously they don't get paid as volunteers. A lot of it is very time consuming. These are individuals that care deeply about the community and want to be involved," he added.
In other actions, the commissioners approved the following full-time replacements: Kaitlyn Breen, clerk III in domestic relations, $14.75 per hour; Tatyana Turner, senior human resources generalist in human resources, $20.40 per hour; Karen Stopper, senior benefits specialist in human resources, $25.18 per hour; Brianna Miller, correctional office I at the prison, $20 per hour; and Brian Fullmer, resident supervisor I at the Pre-Release Center, $18.64 per hour.
Part-time replacement positions approved were: Angelica Turner, clerk III in domestic relations, $14.58 per hour; Jalisa Jett, resident supervisor I at the Pre-Release Center, $18.64 per hour; and Nathanial Edkin, equipment operator in resource management services, $19.62 per hour.
The commissioners also approved: the Lycoming-Clinton Co-Responder Initiative grant application to the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency in the amount of $189,762 in pass-through funds; an agreement with Dr. Michele Miele for services in the District Attorney's office; the purchase of a portable methane detector from QED in the amount of $20,718 for use in monitoring methane at the landfill; the purchase of a Volvo Hi Tip Bucket for recycling from Highway Equipment and Supply Company in the amount of $40,633 for use at the recycling center at the landfill; a quote from CDW-G in the amount of $17,232 for email security and filtering services; and the purchase of a skid steer loader from Cleveland Brothers for $69,037 for use at the Lysock Complex.
The next meeting will be at 10 a.m. Feb. 1, at the Commissioners' Board Room, first floor Executive Plaza, 330 Pine St.
