Rehab of bandshell on council agenda

By Mark Maroney 1 min read

Williamsport City Council is on the verge of awarding construction services for the Brandon Park bandshell rehabilitation project to Lundy Construction Co.

Bill Scott, city engineer, told members of the council's public works committee this week that the bids were opened last May and the project construction cost is $567,900.

The funding will come from Community Development Block Grant, First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania, American Rescue Plan and Lycoming County natural gas impact fees, Scott said.

"We are looking to get it built this year," Scott said.

"We want to get this project off the ground so we don't lose CDBG funds," said Scott Livermore, city public works department general manager.

The upgrades include a lift for accessibility needs and bathroom redos, along with other structural improvements on the plan to be shown to council.

Councilwoman Bonnie Katz, committee chair, requested the council be provided the plans and each funding source before the expected vote tonight.

Starting at /week.
