Over the winter vandals overturned picnic tables at the nature trail at the Lysock View complex near Montoursville. A mushroom table that had been built by a Girl Scout was also damaged, according to County Commissioner Scott Metzger.
Although the picnic tables were not destroyed the mushroom table is beyond repair.
"It's pretty low when you have to destroy property, especially when a Girl Scout makes it," Metzger shared at the commissioners' meeting this week.
"I want to bring this to the public's attention because we have vandalism in our area, which is absolutely unnecessary. When you see it affecting things that kids build for our community, to be enjoyed by all the people of our community, it's disheartening," he said.
"We have to recognize that this kind of stuff is unacceptable and we should denounce it," he added.
