The baseball field operated by Lycoming College at Brandon Park is ready for competition.
The field that the college has invested $3.1 million to make happen is now playable.
Work on some fencing around the bullpens and batting cages is being completed, according to Marla Kramer, a college spokeswoman.
"We are also finalizing work on the dugouts (brickwork)," she noted.
The collegiate field brings first-rate baseball and the Warriors team back to the city.
The college baseball program returned after a half-century hiatus.
Efforts are underway to work with the state Department of Transportation and the city engineer and public works officials on a pedestrian crossing at Washington Boulevard and Elizabeth streets.
The college parking lot has availability as parking is available at the park but is limited.
Separately, the two Little League fields to the south of the complex are almost ready for play, too, an investment of American Rescue Plan funds through recreation allocation approved by City Council and forwarded by Mayor Derek Slaughter.
