Flags Across America ceremony set for Friday evening at Pennsylvania College of Technology’s flag

Be sure to join in or watch the Anthony DiSalvo Flags Across America celebration, a large tribute to honor the American flag that falls on Flag Day in Williamsport on Friday.
The 44th event of its kind will be at 7 p.m. in the parking lot next to the large flying American flag at the Pennsylvania College of Technology.
But before that, the Susquehanna Council of Boy Scouts of America and guests will line up at 6:30 p.m. for a short march on the college grounds that begins at 6:45 p.m., according to the Susquehanna Council BSA.
There will be a program that includes the National Pledge of Allegiance and the music from the Repasz Band performing a patriot concert.
Participants are asked to meet and park at the parking lot south of the Madigan Library and southeast of the Bush Campus Center.
For directions to the event, simply follow the signs from the Maynard Street entrance to the college.
Each year, the meaning of the colors and stripes of the flag are explained for the Boy Scouts and their families and those in attendance.
Traditionally, those speaking will include individuals from the community representing various levels of government.
There's always plenty of red, white and blue at the event.
The Boy Scouts always say their oath and among the crowd favorites each year are those who dress up their dogs in patriotic colors.
It's also an event that is a very patriotic and respectful event and a way to show appreciation for and to remember those who fought in battle and war carrying the flag into battle so that Americans can have and enjoy freedom, justice, liberty for all.
The event has been named after the long-time BSA leader, DiSalvo, who was its organizer, and would make sure everyone along the march and at the activity would be given a small American flag to wave.
