A former Williamsport Area High School teacher accused of pursuing a sexual relationship with a former student will avoid prison time after pleading no contest to one count of harassment before Judge Ryan Tira Friday afternoon.

Michelle L. Pulizzi, 52, of Williamsport, was initially charged with criminal solicitation intercourse or sexual contact with a high school senior in November 2022, after he came forward with allegations that he had kissed Pulizzi “inside her classroom during school hours,” an affidavit stated.

The two first became acquainted during the 2016 school year when Pulizzi was his teacher,” court documents, though the conduct took place after the victim, was no longer under the direction of Pulizzi.

The alleged victim reported that during the 2018 school year, Pulizzi “provided a 60-page packet to him on how to get rid of a hickey.

On several occasions Pulizzi expressed that she missed seeing his face in her class, the victim told police, adding that their relationship evolved into spending time together and talking about personal relationships,” the court document stated.

The former student “detailed how the two had sexual conversations (on social media) during his senior year. He described how they sent several nude photographs, videos and messages back and forth to each other. He specifically remembered Pulizzi sending him photos” of her private parts, the affidavit alleged. The former student admitted sending numerous photos and videos of him in the nude to the teacher, police alleged.

Additionally, the victim stated that Pulizzi told him “to come to her home over (the upcoming) weekend” to engage in sexual activity,” but that he did not accept the teacher’s invitation, police said.

During an interview with investigators, Pulizzi “admitted that she received nude photographs from the former student (via social media) during his senior year,” court documents said.

As part of the plea deal, Pulizzi will serve one year on probation and must surrender her teacher’s license for five years.

She was also ordered to perform 40 hours of community service.
