Little Pine State Park camping and fishing is open for Labor Day weekend
Campers and those fishing below the dam downstream are enjoying the last of summer into Labor Day weekend and early fall at Little Pine State Park.
But there are a few places in the 2,158-acre park that are not open due to flooding, park officials told the Sun-Gazette.
The park campground, lower picnic area, public showers and potable water spots are open, a park attendant said.
However, everything above the dam, including the park office, shooting range, archery range, eagle watch area, day use area, boat launch and beach area are closed. The beach and boat concession will be closed for the remainder of the season.
Boating is not permitted.
The state Department of Transportation (PennDOT) closed the road due to damage incurred during Tropical Storm Debby.
Park reservations can be made at 570-753-6000, according to the park website.
