Pennsylvania’s senators assigned to committees
U.S. Sen. John Fetterman, D-Braddock, and U.S. Sen. Dave McCormick, R-Pittsburgh, have shared their committee assignments.
According to a recent article at PoliticsPA.com, McCormick will serve on the committees on banking, housing and urban affairs, on energy and natural resources and on foreign relations and will also serve on the special committee on aging and on the joint economic committee.
McCormick was under secretary of the Department of the Treasury for international affairs in the Bush administration.
Fetterman, according to a news release from his office Tuesday, will serve on the committees on agriculture, nutrition and forestry, on commerce, science and transportation and on homeland security and governmental affairs
“These committee assignments give me the chance to fight for the issues that matter most to Pennsylvania families — from protecting the right to food and supporting our farmers to making sure older Americans can live with dignity and respect,” Fetterman said, according to the news release. “I’m proud to continue fighting for Pennsylvanians heading into the new Congress.”
Senator Fetterman is also a new member of the U.S. Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe, also known as the U.S. Helsinki Commission, and is a proud continuing member of the U.S. Senate Mental Health Caucus.
“I’d like to thank the people of Pennsylvania for giving me the opportunity to lead,” McCormick said, according to a news release from his office. “There is no higher honor than to serve my friends and neighbors as a United States senator, and I plan to shake up Washington to deliver results on behalf of every Pennsylvanian.”
