Lycoming County is seeking a request for bids for cattle grazing at the County Farm located adjacent to the Lysock View complex, it was announced at this week's county commissioners' meeting.
The farm contains about 150 acres and a new initiative is seeking to have cattle graze at the site.
At one time, the farm supplied food for the county-owned nursing home located nearby.
An amendment to the agreement between the county and B&B Holdings extending it to 6/30/27 and reducing the rent for improvements and modifications was approved by the commissioners. The company is the new owner of the former Julie's Coffee business. It is expected to re-open as early as next week.
In other actions, the commissioners approved: an agreement with Hunter & Lomison for yearly generator service; a renewal with Tyler Technologies for the assessment software support and maintenance in the amount of $135,344; the paging service agreement with Schuylkill Mobil Fone for a pretrial pager in the amount of $150; a subscription renewal with Cellebrite in the amount of $18,804 for digital forensics phone extraction tool; the purchase agreement with Marco in the amount of $34,533 for a Sharp Print Shop Production Printer; the appointment of Sandra Maneval to a five-year term on the Housing Authority; the continuation of the opioid litigation proceedings and to pursue new ones with Cherundolo Law Firm; an agreement with S&J Recycling for a three year contract for the Resource Management Services (RMS) Department; DEP bonding with CD's for the transfer station permit in the amount of $27,108; and the engagement letter with Hickman Consulting Services, LLC for the landfill.
The board also approved the following agreements at the rate of $90 per hour each as needed: Riane Achner, Esq., and Jamie Cook, Esq., to provide legal representation when the Public Defender's office has a conflict; and Scotilla Psychological Services LLC to provide forensic and psychological evaluation services.
Under personnel, the commissioners approved filling the following positions at the rates of pay listed: Sona Medina, full-time Licensed Practical Nurse at the Prison, $30 per hour; Sara Fox, full-time correctional officer at the Prison, a union position, $20 per hour; Claudette Moyd and Cherill Greene, full-time resident supervisors at the Pre-Release Center, union positions, $19.20 per hour each; and Gwendolyn Evelhair, part-time resident supervisor, a union position, $19.20 per hour.
Matthew Welickovitch, Deputy Public Defender had his salary increased to $90,000 per year due to earning his death penalty certification.
The next commissioners' meeting will be in the Commissioners' Board Room, 3rd floor, Third Street Plaza, 33 West Third St.
