A number of candidates will continue to campaign for municipal offices in central Lycoming County until November after unofficial results from the 2025 primaries were posted by the county.
Liz Miele, April Line and Jonah Milliken won Democratic nominations for Williamsport City Council while Eric Beiter and David J. Dussinger won Republican nominations. Three seats on City Council will be up for election in November. Lycoming County's unofficial results from Tuesday's primaries reflect that 39 write-in votes were cast in the Republican race for council.
Paul Nyman, John C. Bower Jr. and Richard Trowbridge won Republican nominations for Loyalsock Township supervisor. While no candidates filed to seek the Democratic nominations for the three supervisors' seats, unofficial election results on Lycoming County's website reflect that 108 write-in votes were cast, which could produce Democratic nominees after those votes are reviewed and tallied.
John W. Eck, Kenneth George, Becky S. Corter and Amy Hammaker won Republican nominations for the four supervisor positions up for election in November in Old Lycoming Township. No candidates ran for the supervisors' positions in the Democratic primary.
Marlin Angelo won the Republican nomination to serve another term as mayor of South Williamsport, while James Sechrist, Casey Lowmiller and Daniel Cupp won Republican nominations for borough council. No candidates filed to run for a fourth seat on South Williamsport's council -- a race in which 19 write-in votes were cast. Nor did any candidates file to run for Democratic nominations for South Williamsport Borough Council or for mayor. Fewer than 20 write-in votes were cast in Democratic primaries for each of those positions.
Randy Swank won the Republican nomination for mayor of Montoursville. Dennis Holt and Misty Emick won Republican nominations for borough council. According to unofficial results Robert P. Brown received 71 votes while 89 voters cast write-in votes for the Republican nomination for a third Montoursville Borough Council seat -- county officials will have to review the write-in votes to determine a winner. No residents filed as candidates for the Democratic nominations for mayor or borough council in Montoursville, and write-in vote totals in the races ranged from eight votes to 33 votes.
Richard A. Knecht won the Republican nomination for mayor of DuBoistown, while Christee Thomas, Richard M. Gordon, Norman Cowden and Patrick Melloy won Republican nominations for DuBoistown Borough Council. No Democrats sought nominations for the position of DuBoistown mayor or seats on council.
No Democrats sought nomination for Woodward Township supervisor. Craig Grove won the Republican nomination for the seat up for election in November on Woodward Township's board of supervisors.
