City of Williamsport seeks developer for vacant lot on Market Street
The City of Williamsport’s Redevelopment Authority/Land Bank continues to chip away at the residential blight, buying properties and selling them to reputable developers that can rebuild and get the developments back onto the market or refurbish existing structures.
The most recent effort is the pending sale of a vacant lot at 615 Market St., according to the city website.
It was a dilapidated structure that was demolished with permission granted by the City Council.
The Redevelopment Authority listed the property for sale as 0.13 acres.
Due to costs incurred for demolition of the previous blighted structure the authority is asking for a $100,000 reserve to recoup the losses incurred by the authority in remediating the blight.
Anyone interested should contact August Memmi, authority executive director, with any offer to purchase at 717-418-1112 or amemmi@williamsportrda.org.
All proposals are due July 21, he said.
