SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT – El Swing Perfecto Little League (Chihuahua, Mexico) is headed to Williamsport for its first-ever trip to represent Mexico in the 2025 Little League Baseball World Series after a 4-1 win in the national championship game. The team finished the Mexico Region Tournament with a strong 7-1 record, with its only loss coming to Tepezala Little League.
This will be El Swing Perfecto Little League’s first trip to Williamsport after chartering for the first time in 2023. This trip also marks Mexico’s 37th trip to the LLBWS since 1957 — second only to Canada among international participants.
Collectively, Mexico owns a 79-61 overall LLBWS record, including three championships (1957, 1958, 1997), four runner-up finishes, and three third-place finishes. The country’s storied legacy began with Industrial Little League of Monterrey in 1957 — the first international team to win the title — capped by Angel Macias’s iconic perfect game in the championship game.
The first-round matchups for the 2025 LLBWS were announced on June 11 during National Little League Week. Mexico will square off against the Asia-Pacific Region’s Tung-Yuan Little League on Thursday, August 14, at 5 p.m. at Volunteer Stadium.
The 2025 Little League Baseball World Series is set to kick off on Wednesday, August 13, with the World Series Championship game scheduled for August 24.
