Pennsylvania State Police to hold Sunny Day Camp in September

State police will hold their Sunny Day Camp from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at the Lycoming County Fairgrounds in Hughesville, trooper Lauren Lesher announced in an email to media outlets.

Children and adults of all ages with special needs or disabilities, as well as Special Olympic participants and their immediate families are welcomed to take part in the free event, a flier said.

Gates will open at 9:30 a.m. and a lunch will be provided.

Participants will be treated to an interactive day with law enforcement, featuring aviation, police and fire department vehicles and field games by the Special Olympic DJ, according to an event flier.

Facepainting and a magician will add to the fun.

“Last year we had approximately 110 ‘cadets’ attend, and we hope we could increase that number this year,” Lesher said in the email.

Registration is open now and should be completed by Sept. 5 at https://secure.blueoctane.net/forms/V0H8ZZ364P5W.
