Business manager at Montoursville Area School District resigns
The Montoursville Area School Board accepted the resignation of Business Manager Brandy Smith during its most recent meeting.
Smith, who served in the position for nine years, will officially step down from the job Dec. 1.
However, she is to continue in an advisory capacity to the district until Jan. 19.
Superintendent Dan Taormina thanked Smith for her work in the district.
“She helped me tremendously,” he said. “I will miss you. Good luck to you.”
School director Sharon Meyer also thanked Smith for her service.
Smith took over as business manager in 2016 following the resignation of Robert Saul.
In other personnel matters, the board approved Isabelle Gush to the substitute teacher list and Jamie Moore to the bus driver and bus aide list.
The board accepted a quote of $10,312 from Keystone Advertising for safety and security improvements at C.E. McCall Middle School.
An agreement was approved with OMNI & TSACG Compliance Services.
Taormina reported to the board an Artificial Intelligence policy is being drawn up for the district.
Prior to the meeting the board met in an executive session to consider personnel matters.
The next board meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14 at the high school.
