A very large old Silver Maple came crashing down in the 300 block of Lincoln Avenue in Williamsport at about 3 p.m. Thursday. City firefighters initially responded followed by about a half a dozen employees of the city’s Streets and Parks Department who worked for over an hour to remove it.
Using chainsaws, employees with the city Streets and Parks cut off branches to the fallen tree that were then loaded into dump trucks and taken to the city’s mulch pile on West Third Street.
A front-end loader was used to pick up the cut off branches from the tree and dump them into dump trucks.
