Owner of Antlers on the Water confronts Woodward Township supervisor
A local business owner confronted a township supervisor at the recent Woodward Township Supervisors’ meeting.
The public portion began when Tina Shriker, one of the co-owners of Antlers on the Water — part of Gough Enterprises — off of Fourth Street, said that Supervisor Board Chairman Jeffrey Stroehmann had caused problems for Antlers due to his friendship with a neighbor.
Shriker read a statement, including: “I just wanted the community (to be) aware of all the wasteful spending.”
She said the spending was due to Stroehmann consistently looking for anything to report to law enforcement about what happens at Antlers. She said that, for “those who don’t know,” Antlers is separated from its nearest neighbor by two parking lots but this neighbor still “has problems with our music.”
She said Stroehmann was seen driving away using his phone to record events at Antlers. She specifically said Stroehmann had contacted law enforcement agencies such as the Pennsylvania State Police from Montoursville, as well as other law enforcement agencies to approach the restaurant.
She added that Stroehmann tried to bill them $7,000 for the use of borough attorney Mark Drier.
“I feel that you have used your position to harass us,” Shriker said.
After her comments, Stroehmann asked her to put her complaints in writing so he could respond at a future time.
Also at the meeting and independent of the exchange between Shriker and Stroehmann, Gough Enterprises was granted an extension for conditional use for a new RV campground. Supervisors Wayne Robinson and Joseph Bertin approved.
Additionally, Stroehmann said that action against blighted properties would continue.
“It is a never ending job,” he said.
The next meeting will be Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. at the Woodward Township Municipal Building, 9 Moore Road Ext, Suite 1, Linden.
