Lycoming County commissioners fill emergency planning seats
It was a light agenda for the Lycoming County commissioners at their recent meeting with only five items up for a vote and two of those being tabled until a later date due to cash flow concerns.
“Maybe we have to have a discussion about a spending freeze,” commented Commissioner Scott Metzger, following a report by Nicki Gottschall, acting county controller.
Gottschall’s account payable cash requirement report had listed invoices in the amount of $2,729,877. Last week’s total was $3,124,366 and two weeks ago it was $2,170,672.
It was noted that some of the invoices that were being paid had been for work that had previously been done and the invoices had been held until now for payment.
Approved by the commissioners was the appointment of the following people to the Local Emergency Planning Committee: Ann DiDonato, Jeremy Reese and Chris Smith.
The board also approved the following: the River Walk grant application to PennDOT’s Transportation Set-Aside (TASA) program in the amount of $1.5 million; and Licensure and Maintenance agreement with Corrections Development Inc., for criminal records in the District Attorney’s Office.
Items tabled included: a three-year Maintenance Renewal agreement with Integra One in the amount of $24,084 for firewalls at the landfill; and an agreement with Hillis-carnes Engineering Associates in the amount of $12,215 for subsurface drilling at the site of the proposed magistrate’s office in Jersey Shore.
The next commissioners’ meeting will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 30 at the Commissioners’ Board Room, 3rd floor, Third Street Plaza, 33 W. Third St.
