MATTHEW COURTER/Sun-Gazette

The identity of a man killed in a machine accident Friday afternoon has been released.

Authorities were called to the home of Arnold Taylor, 70, of 1667 Pleasant Valley Road, Cogan Station, just before 12:30 p.m. for a report of a man whose arm was trapped in a conveyor belt of a rock crushing and sorting machine, a press release from Lycoming County Coroner Charles Kiessling Jr. said.

Taylor had last been seen around 8 a.m. Friday morning prior to being discovered, according to Lycoming Regional Police Chief Christopher Kriner, whose department was the first to arrive on scene.

Taylor suffered severe injuries to his arm and chest, and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 1 p.m., the Coroner’s release said.

Several local emergency personnel assisted at the scene, including Susquehanna Regional EMS, Trout Run EMS, Old Lycoming Township and Trout Run Fire Department.
