A private investigation firm is charging the City of Williamsport $75-per-hour and mileage to look into unspecified damage done inside of the historic building.
In a letter to council and the city administration, Kevin J. Patterson, a licensed private investigator and owner of Mid Penn Investigative Solutions Inc. with a PO box in Loganton, supplied city officials with those terms.
The terms were reviewed by Austin White, city solicitor, and council.
Councilman Vince Pulizzi brought up the resolution for a vote requesting it be separate from the Williamsport Bureau of Police. The building is vacant except that it is used for police evidence storage and there is a weight room in the basement. It has not been used for public use since September 2021 when it was vacated after July summer storm leaks of water got into the building and later that year in December a pipe burst causing further damage.
The scope of the investigation may include:
A review of documents and communications provided by the client and other relevant parties.
Conducting interviews with relevant personnel and witnesses.
Summarizing and reporting information and findings gleaned from the investigation.
Making recommendations to further the investigation as appropriate.
The final scope, timing and delivery of reports will be confirmed in a formal engagement agreement provided the parties agree to proceed.
Each party has agreed to keep confidential any non-public information exchanged during discussions or in connection with any preliminary work performed.
