Two displaced after Tuesday fire in South Williamsport
Volunteer and city firefighters responded to this home at 431 George St. in South Williamport about 11:10 p.m. Tuesday when an electrical fire, caused by an overloaded extension cord, broke out in the basement, borough Fire Chief Jeff Trammell said. It took about 20 minutes to bring the fire under control. There were no injuries. Two adults, whose names were not released, and their dog were displaced, Trammell said. The entire home will have to be re-wired before the residents can move back in, he added. The homeowner has fire insurance.
