Woman killed in Lairdsville crash on Wednesday identified
LAIRDSVILLE — The motorist killed Wednesday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash on German Road near here in Franklin Township was identified as Tawnyrae Shook, 33, of Unityville, according to state police.
Traveling north on German Road in a 2021 Kia Seltos, Shook lost control of the SUV as she attempted to negotiate “a downhill right-hand curve” at Bomboy Road about 3:20 p.m., police said.
Emergency responders said road conditions at the time were very slippery as the road was covered with snow and ice.
The vehicle went off-road and struck a tree head-on, police said.
Shook, who was wearing a seatbelt, was rushed to UPMC Williamsport, where she died at 4:19 p.m., according to the Lycoming County Coroner’s Office.
