Dream Week returns. This year’s concept? Mission Impossible
Building community, uniting a nation the non-violent way.
This is the ambition of Mission Impossible 2026 Dream Week, to be held Jan. 16 to Jan. 25 as part of honoring the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his legacy of peace through non-violence and taking action for improved communities.
MLK Day, the only federal holiday designated a National Day of Service, is a defining moment each year when Americans across the country, including those in Williamsport and throughout the region, step up to make communities more equitable and take action to create the beloved community of Dr. King’s dream.
King’s fight for systemic change serves as a call to action for the Day of Service.
It’s a day to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.
During the last quarter-century, the MLK Day Service has grown, and its impact increased as more Americans embraced the idea that citizenship involves taking an active role in improving communities.
In Lycoming County, representatives of STEP, Pennsylvania College of Technology, Lycoming College, the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, the United Way of North Central Pa., the United Churches of Lycoming County have been organizing activities with many more partner agencies for over a week of events.
