Tractor-trailer truck driver escapes injury after plunging down embankment

PHILIP HOLMES/Sun-Gazette

The driver of this empty tractor-trailer truck escaped injury when his rig took out about 60 feet of guardrail and went down a 50-foot embankment on Route 15, a half a mile south if Buttonwood, about 10:15 a.m. Monday, according to state police. Once the 36-year-old Mount Laurel driver climbed out of the cab, he pulled himself up the embankment using a rope firefighters threw to him, Trout Run Fire Chief Nick Smith said.
