White Deer Run addiction treatment center to lay off 31

ALLENWOOD — White Deer Run Treatment Network near Allenwood will lay off 31 employees, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification with the state Department of Labor and Industry.

The layoffs, the Daily Item in Sunbury reported, will go into effect on April 5. Open since 1970, the White Deer Run of Allenwood is a 264-bed program that offers detoxification and residential rehabilitation services to people with substance abuse and certain co-occurring disorders.

The addiction treatment service center is located at 360 White Deer Run Road in Gregg Township.

Staff includes a medical doctor, psychiatrists, physician assistants, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, counselors, therapists and other specialists, the Daily Item reported. Rehab at White Deer Run of Allenwood includes gender-specific programming; individual, group, and family therapy; experiential therapies; and thorough discharge planning.
