HERSHEY — Montgomery’s Zoe Furman made history on Saturday at Hershey’s Giant Center by becoming the first girls wrestler in District 4 history to stand on top the podium with a gold medal. The Red Raider senior capped her career by winning the state title at 160 pounds, wrapping up an outstanding career.
Furman was one of two area wrestlers to win gold medals this year as she was joined by Montoursville’s Gage Wentzel, who won the PIAA Class AA 172-pound championship.
Forman is a two-time state finalist as she took silver as a junior. She was the only area girls wrestler to reach the first-place finals.
Montgomery’s Brandt Harer took silver after falling to No. 1-ranked Bo Bassett of Bishop McCort in the 145-pound final in Class AA. Warrior Run’s Reagan Milheim lost in the 160 final to take silver. Milheim is a four-time state finalist, claiming three silvers and a gold in 2024.
Central Mountain’s Aiden Kunes took silver at 145 in Class AAA competition.
