Human Services Expo to be held April 23 at Penn College

The largest Human Services Expo in the Commonwealth will be held in Williamsport on April 23.

Caregivers, seniors, parents/guardians, veterans and students are all invited to attend the fourth annual Human Services Expo at Pennsylvania College of Technology, said state Rep. Jamie Flick, R-South Williamsport, representing the 83rd House District. That includes Lycoming County and Gregg and White Deer townships in Union County.

A Speaker Series from 1 to 3 p.m. at Penn’s Inn will cover the opioid crisis, share survivors’ stories, and update the public on what state representatives are doing to combat the opioid and drug crisis in the Commonwealth.

The Speaker Series on addiction and opioid recovery includes leaders from Harrisburg, Carolyn Miele from Savings Lives for Zachary and former Lycoming County Judge Marc Lovecchio on losing a young person to addiction, along with resources for survivors.

The Expo, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Field House, brings together nearly 80 agencies all in one place to help visitors to navigate life’s challenges. It’s free for parents, caregivers, seniors, veterans – anyone looking for services to make life easier.

At least 15 new participants have signed up this year. STEP Inc. will provide transportation from senior centers. Free blood pressure readings will be done by Penn College Physician Assistant program students.

Starting at $2.99/week.
