Montoursville Area School Board hires a director of curriculum
The Montoursville Area School Board at its recent meeting approved Dr. Matt Johnson to become the district’s director of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
Johnson, who serves as the district’s high school principal, will fill a position that has remained vacant for many years.
“I’m incredibly grateful that Matt is coming on,” school director Sharon Meyer said. “This is something we desperately needed.”
Johnson’s annual salary is listed at $117,000.
He is to begin the job July 1.
In other personnel matters, the board approved the resignations of Joseph Robbins, building security, and Kaila Clancy, paraprofessional.
The following hirings were approved:
• Joseph Balduino, assistant boys soccer coach, $2,600.
• Anna Glantz, substitute teacher, music and special education.
• Danika Seese, substitute custodian.
• Audrey Earnest, substitute sports bus driver, Campbell Busing.
• Sheila Karschner, bus aide, Promiseland Busing.
In other action, the board approved:
• A service agreement with BLaST Intermediate Unit #17 for the Regional Wide Area Network E-Rate Consortium.
• The 2026-2027 Lycoming Career and Technology Center operating budget.
• Armed security administrative regulations for the district.
• Expulsion of a high school student.
