No changes to tax rates in East Lycoming schools’ budget

The East Lycoming School Board recently approved a $32 million proposed budget for 2026-27 that does not include a property tax increase.

The proposed budget is in the amount of $32,087,205 and the district is planning to levy taxes at 16.65 mills, the same as the prior year, according to business manager Heather Burke.

The district real estate transfer tax will remain at 1 % and earned income tax 1.2 %.

In other business, resignations were received and accepted for:

Superintendent Dr. Mark Stamm who announced earlier.

Alexa Nork, Secondary English teacher, effective end of school year.

Samantha Showers, Junior High Girls Volleyball coach, effective Jan. 9, 2026.

Lindsey Hartman, Assistant Track & Field and to remain a volunteer.

Carissa Gavitt, Secondary Art Teacher, effective May 15.

Dorothy Bennett, Hughesville Borough Tax Collector, effective March 31.

Bryan McCaffery, Director of Building and Grounds, effective July 13.

Approved Jennifer Mausteller as Hughesville Borough Tax Collector.

Personnel:

Approved transfer of Jessica McCoy from an Elementary Teacher at Ashkar to a Middle School Reading Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year.

Approved transfer of Melanie Steele from a Secondary Mathematics Teacher to Spartan Academy/Guidance position for the 2026/2027 school year.

Support Staff approved:

Mackensi Boore as a Full-time Custodian at the High School, $15.16 per hour with co-pay benefits.

Drew Procter as a Full-time General Maintenance Worker in the district, $19.43 per hour, with co-pay benefits.

Approved the transfer of Courtney Jesser from Part-time High School secretary to Full-time Secretary, 210 days per year, 7.5 hours daily with co-pay benefits, effective April 15, 2026.

Approved the transfer of Samantha Showers from a Part-time Aide at the High School to a Part-time secretary at the High School, $16.57 per hour, 6 hours per day, 210 days per year, effective April 15, 2026.

Approved a Full-time Instructional Aide at Renn Elementary, $14.99 per hour, 7 hours per day with co-pay benefits.

Athletics:

Approved Nicole Walton as an Athletic Volunteer for Softball.

Approved the formation of the ADHOC Committee “Athletic Building Committee” through December 2026 to evaluate feasibility and cost of a multi-purpose sports facility.
