Small flow treatment facility agreement gets council approval
A Williamsport homeowners’ residence received an installation and maintenance agreement with the city for a small flow treatment facility on their property.
In a resolution, the City Council approved the facility agreement at 372 Daughertys Run Road.
The property owner is unable to tie into the sanitary on their lot. A requirement will be for them to pay an escrow amount to the city for annual inspections and maintenance, as recommended by the city sewage enforcement officer.
The property owner will need to have an engineer in charge of inspecting and submitting a design for the facility.
This is an approval for them to move forward and it will go through the state Department of Environmental Protection and regulatory process.
This resolution was presented for approval by Austin White, city solicitor.
ARPA funding added
Council approved a minor amendment to HOME American Rescue Plan Act funding. It is $983 more for the allocation of $989,117 in ARPA funding, said Valerie Fessler, executive director of the city Department of Community and Economic Development. The amount will be applied for the STEP Inc., the agency executing the project the city approved the funding for under a supportive services line item. Jamie Shrawder of SEDA-Council of Governments was online for any questions related to the item that was passed without questions.
SEDA-COG has a new agreement with the city not to exceed $136,500 to help the department to meet compliance.
A resolution was approved for the annual Community Development Block Grant and Home Investment Partnership Program.
The annual action plan, which is close to a 200-page document to be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, after two public hearings, is going to be submitted. The city selected street reconstruction, pedestrian safety – crosswalks markings; more funding for Sojourner Truth Ministries facility that also was financed with last year’s funding sources and for HOME funding it will be for single-family housing acquisition and rehab for projects with STEP Inc.
A house belonging to Mirabito Properties at 932 W. Third St. that was razed received a real estate reduction as per request by Treasurer Adam Welteroth.
