Muncy Township supervisors sign agreement to have fire company sewage leak cleaned

RALPH WILSON/Sun-Gazette Correspondent Muncy Township Volunteer Fire Department president, Nick Palmatier announces an agreement with Muncy Township supervisors for cleaning and repairs to the fire hall from a sewage overflow that occurred in April.

Muncy Township Fire Company President Nick Palmatier announced at the Muncy Township Planning Commission meeting Wednesday night, that an agreement has been signed by the Muncy Township Supervisors to have the sewage leak in the fire company cleaned. On Tuesday the fire company in Pennsdale moved all of the trucks to Muncy Area Fire Company in Muncy Creek Township because of a sewage backup that left the company unable to use their firehouse.

“I would like to share some news. We were in with the supervisors, they have agreed to sign the agenda to bring ServPro downstairs, so within this week we will get ServPro in to start cleaning the facility downstairs, and hopefully by the end of the week we will get the fire trucks back in the station downstairs,” said Palmatier.

“I’d personally like to thank the supervisors for coming together and getting this signed so we can get this fast track and get everything back in order. We will be working with them to amend our relationships and work on our lease for downstairs, so this doesn’t happen again. So I appreciate everyone’s support, and I thank everyone for your time,” added Palmatier.

Starting at $3.90/week.
