New site approved for MDJ Dieter’s office
An agreement of sale approved by the Lycoming County Commissioners for a property at 19 Wagner Rd. is the first step in the construction of a new office for Magisterial District Judge Denise Dieter. The agreement was signed with Fish Realty for $347,000 and comes from Act 13 funds.
Commissioner Scott Metzger explained that a previous site which had been considered had issues so a new property was found for the construction.
In other business, the commissioners approved: Lycoming County landfill and transfer station annual reports; a Memorandum of Understanding between the Lycoming County Prison and the Pre-Release Center (PRC) and AFSCME to allow employees at the PRC to help alleviate the staffing shortage at the prison to be paid through operating expenses; an amendment with ThisGen Inc. for a program in Public Safety; a service order with Comcast to broadcast alerts to be paid through operating expenses; a service agreement with Keyser Consulting Group in the amount of $1,100 to be paid out of operating expenses; an amendment to the agreement with Mailroom Systems, Inc. to be paid out of operating expenses; two service agreement with CDW-G for $733 and $289 for the IT department; an agreement with Fry’s Fire Protection for $725 to be paid out of operating expenses; ratified a settlement agreement with Keystruct Construction, LLC in the amount of $200,134 related to the Coroner’s building to be paid out of the general fund; and an agreement with Paylocity for a Human Resources and Payroll System to be paid out of the operating expenses of three departments.
Under personnel, the commissioners approved hiring Alexandria Horafus as a full-time Adult Probation Officer II, a union position at $23.82 per hour.
Under Salary Board actions, approval was given to adding a temporary Deputy Warden of Inmate Services to the TDA, not to exceed 160 hours, to help train the replacement for retiring Deputy Warden Christopher Ebner, who is expected to fill that position.
The next commissioners’ meeting will be at 10 a.m. June 11 in the Commissioners’ Board Room, 3rd floor, Third Street Plaza, 33 West Third St.
