The City of Williamsport is getting a newly constructed financial institution.
City Council gave conditional approval for a land development plan for PVEDI, submitted on behalf of West Branch Federal Credit Union at 1640 High St.
The applicant submitted a complete demolition plan for the existing bank and drive-thru and a majority of the existing parking areas, said Phil Prout, building codes officer of Barry Isett & Associates.
The plan indicates construction of a new bank and drive-thru and shows newly paved parking areas with a Dumpster pad enclosure in the rear of the property. Some areas of the parking lot will not be redone.
Stormwater consistency has been approved. Landscaping and site lighting complies with the city subdivision and land development ordinance, Prout said.
The application is pending state Department of Transportation (PennDOT) approval with a new sidewalk on state right of way, he noted. It will not need a full Highway Occupancy Permit (HOP) but rather a conditional HOP.
