Loyalsock Township school board OKs staffing additions

The Loyalsock Township School Board filled several staffing slots at its recent July meeting.

In staffing, the board approved Stephanie Bower as a full-time paraprofessional, effective Aug. 25 at an hourly rate of $17.10; Brock Hepler as a full-time paraprofessional, effective Aug. 25 at an hourly rate of $16.10; Larry Trimble as Color Guard Instructor for the 2026-27 school year; an hourly rate of $18.38 for Jamal Nesmith, Intervention Specialist, for the 2026-27 school year; Beth Rohrer as Head Volleyball Coach for the 2026-27 sports season, at a stipend of $3,000; Allison Mertes as Assistant Volleyball Coach for the 2026-27 sports season, at a stipend of $2,500.00; and acknowledged the resignations of Connie Clapper as Middle School Secretary, effective June 30; and Sierra Barnes as high school secretary, effective June 30. Barnes will continue on as Drama Club Advisor and Musical Director for the 2026-27 school year as she pursues her teaching degree, district Superintendent Dr. Brooke Beiter said.

In other items, the board approved Policy No. 716 on Integrated Pest Management; the Integrated Pest Management plan with Humphrey’s Pest Control Company, 313 Grimesville Road, Williamsport; the final/revised 2025-26 school calendar; the budget of $35,225.27 from the Loyalsock Township Recreation Board for programs during the 2026-27 school year; the list of salaries for the 2026-27 school year, retroactive to July 1, 2026; and the appointment of Gregory Hayes as an alternate Assistant Board Secretary, effective Aug. 1.

The next school board meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5.
