The second amendment to and agreement with ILK Family LP was approved by the Lycoming County Commissioners at their meeting this week. The amendment extends the agreement until Dec. 31, 2027.
Last year the ILK Family LP had proposed a housing development project on land in the Wolf Township/Hughesville Borough area.
It was reported last fall that the developers had obtained a housing initiative grant agreement with the county in April 2025 for a two-phase project with $500,000 for each phase. Housing initiative monies are used for properties that offer fair market housing, which is not to be confused with low income housing.
In other actions, the commissioners approved: repairs to the fuel station at the landfill by Professional Petroleum Services in the amount of $54,682, to be paid out of Capital funds; an amendment to the agreement with Revize, LLC in the amount of $5,775 to be paid out of operating expenses in order to make the county's website ADA compliant; the American Rescue Workers 2024/2025 PHARE ( Pennsylvania Housing Affordability and Rehabilitation Enhancement) subrecipient agreement in the amount of $100,000; the STEP 2024/2025 subrecipient agreement in the amount of $50,000 to be paid out of PHARE funds; the MATP (Medical Assistance Transportation Program) for fiscal year 2026-2027 grant agreement with the Department of Human Services; and the agreement of sale for the parcel at 164 Beach Road in the amount of $80,000 for a vacant lot adjacent to the County Farm property.
The commissioners also announced that there will be a Farm Outreach Day on Sept. 9 at the County Farm. Plans for the farm included utilizing it as an educational space for farmers and school districts.
Under personnel, the commissioners approved hiring Cole Sheppard and Maverick Harding as full-time correctional officers at the Prison, both union positions at a pay rate of $21.50 per hour each. Both positions are new hires.
Elected officials' personnel actions included hiring: Michael Orwig as a part-time deputy sheriff 1st class at $30 per hour and Glenn Murchison Jr. as a full-time deputy sheriff 1st class at $26.99 per hour.
The next commissioners' meeting will be at 10 a.m. Aug. 20 in the Commissioners' Board Room, 3rd floor, Third Street Plaza, 33 West Third St.
