Montgomery Area School Board OKs Job Corps agreement, buying benches

The Montgomery Area School District passed a light agenda at its September meeting.

Items approved by the board include a partnership agreement with Adams & Associates for students to take part in the Job Corps programs located at both the Keystone and Red Rock Job Corps Centers; the purchase of concrete bollards and benches from Wausau Tile in the amount of $19,058.77, which will be covered by a PCCD grant; a list Occupational Advisory Committee members to be part of the Career & Technical Education program. Committee members help guide aspects of curriculum in their respective professional fields.

In staffing, the board approved Kara Musgrave-White and Ms. Lisa Miller as bus/van drivers for Murray Transportation Inc.; a number of athletic coaches, assistant coaches and volunteers with stipends ranging from $2,050 to $3,285.69; and updated pay rates for event workers.

The next school board hearing will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
