The Lycoming County District Attorney's Office unveiled a crime and safety website aimed at giving residents direct access to crime alerts, safety tips and a way to submit tips online, the office said in a press release Monday.
The new site, launched in partnership with CRIMEWATCH Technologies, gives county residents real-time access to crime and public safety information, including the ability to view crime maps, sign up for alerts, browse community events and submit tips, including anonymously, directly to the DA's office, according to the release.
"By sharing information about criminal activity, Crimewatch empowers citizens to take an active role in preventing and solving crimes," Lycoming County District Attorney Tom Marino said in the release.
"It allows individuals to report suspicious behavior, provide tips and stay informed about incidents in their area. This collaborative approach not only helps the authorities to respond more effectively but also fosters a sense of community and shared responsibility," he said.
Residents are encouraged to visit the new site at www.LycomingDA.org to sign up for free notifications about crime and safety news.
In conjunction with the website, the DA's office also launched a new Facebook page at www.facebook.com/LycomingCountyDistrictAttorney.
