The Paternostro Cancer Foundation will hold a special fundraising event to support individuals and families affected by cancer, the foundation announced in a press release.
The fundraiser, dubbed Hope Lives Here, will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, at Herman & Luther's, 787 Route 87, Montoursville.
"Hope Lives Here will be an evening centered on compassion, connection and the power of community. Guests will have several opportunities to make a meaningful impact through an exciting silent auction, live auction, paddle raise and raffles throughout the event," the release said.
"Every bid, paddle raised and raffle ticket purchased will help advance the Paternostro Cancer Foundation's mission and provide meaningful support to those navigating the challenges of cancer," the release said.
Attendees can look forward to Herman & Luther's roving dinner of heavy hors d'oeuvres, complimentary beer and wine throughout the evening, as well as a cash bar for the purchase of elevated spirits, as well as access to Cheers to You! Raffle and live auction bidding.
Musical entertainment will be provided by event emcee, Zac Baggett.
"A hallmark of the event includes the Wall of Honor & Remembrance, where attendees are invited to recognize a loved one, caregiver or friend touched by cancer with names displayed during the event," the release said.
"Hope Lives Here represents what our foundation is all about--people coming together to make sure no one faces cancer without support," said Chairman Krista Paternostro Bower, who founded the Paternostro Cancer Foundation in 2013 to help provide support, including financial, to local families facing the devastating illness.
"Through the generosity of donors, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners, the Foundation works to bring hope and meaningful assistance to individuals and families impacted by cancer," the release said.
"We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joins us, contributes, donates and helps turn hope into action for families in our community," Paternastro Bower said in the release.
