Visitors had a smashing good time at Journey Church, 527 Park Ave., Williamsport, during its inaugural "Pumpkin Smash" and Community Night on Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. Children and adults from the church and neighborhood got to use a sledgehammer to smash pumpkins as a fun exercise and way to release some energy in a positive manner. Adults and children also enjoyed grilled food, played games, danced to music from a sound system, got candy, and made new friends. For those who completed all the activities on the provided "My Passport" ticket, there was a prize giveaway. Pastor Dr. MarQuerita Story was on hand to greet each visitor to the church event space.
