Dawud M. Rogers will spend the rest of his life behind bars after being sentenced to life without the possibility of parole for the Dec. 30, 2016 shooting death of William Michael “Mickey” Blackwell. City of Williamsport votes in favor of putting together Home Rule Study Commission

Unofficial results from Tuesday’s Primary Election show a proposal to establish a Home Rule Study Commission winning with about 63.6% of the vote, or 1,745 “yes” votes. The proposal was to elect a commission to explore the possibility of Home Rule with the help of a state-funded consultant. Candidates Dante Miele-Elion, Liz Miele, Valerie Fessler, Brianna Stetts, Andrew Dincher, Caroline Payne and J.
