Muncy Borough Council at its August meeting approved a $5,010 payment for repair of a section of its storm sewer system. The repair work represents just a section of the borough’s storm sewer network requiring upgrades, according to borough officials. “This entire system is failing, and it needs to be cleaned out,” Councilman Ed Fiegles said. Gregg Township suspends data centers for up to 180 days

A temporary suspension for up to 180 days on data centers recently was approved by Gregg Township supervisors in Union County near Allenwood. The vote allows for further consideration of an amendment to the zoning ordinance requested by the developer PNK Group of New York City, according to Pennlive.com. A public hearing on the amendment on July 20 was recessed and is scheduled to resume Tuesday at 5 p.m. in the Allenwood social hall. United Way accepting requests for homelessness assistance funding

Lycoming County receives an annual allocation of Homeless Assistance Program (HAP) funds through a Lycoming County Human Service Block Grant (HSBG). According to a news release, HAP is a county-directed program that offers a variety of supportive services to individuals and families experiencing or at risk for homelessness and who can demonstrate that, with HAP intervention, they will be able to meet their basic housing needs in the near term. BELLEFONTE -- The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Vector Management has reported to the Centre County Planning and Community Development Office that one mosquito sample collected recently in Ferguson Township, has tested positive for the West Nile Virus.
