Shirley Anne Doebler, 72, of Montgomery, died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born April 25, 1945, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Kathryn E. (Egli) Schrum. She married Dale E. Doebler on June 7, 1991.
Shirley loved going to sprint car races, bowling, ceramics and collecting attic dolls. She also taught Sunday school for many years, at the Lairdsville Faith Church.
In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by three daughters, Debra L. (Maurice Sholder, Jr.) Waldman, of Linden, Lisa A. (Steve) Flook, of Williamsport, and Candace L. Nonemaker, of Williamsport; a son, D. Edward (Barbara) Doebler, of Linden; a sister, Holly A. (Rick) Mayberry, of Southport, N.C.; a brother, Samuel W. (Cheryl) Schrum, of Lancaster; seven grandchildren, Jason Strassner, Brooke Waldman, Destiny Doebler, Samantha Flook, Sydney Waldman, Brandon Waldman and Faith Nonemaker; and her beloved dog, Tucker.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7 at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Rev. Max L. Walters, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
