Thomas M. West
Thomas M. West, 57, of Loyalsock Township, passed away peacefully with his family on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. He and his wife, the former Marianne Cicerale, were married on Sept. 12, 1987 and celebrated 33 years together.
Tom was born on Feb. 4, 1963 in Williamsport and was the son of Edward and Mary Jane Marley West.
He was a 1981 graduate of Loyalsock Township High School and a 1983 graduate of the former Williamsport Area Community College with an associate degree in welding. Tom worked 29 years at UPMC Susquehanna, Divine Providence Hospital with safety and security. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, the Keystone League, Sons of Italy 2763, VFW Post 7863 DuBoistown, and the Antique Automobile Club of America.
Tom loved antique cars and showing his 1968 Thunderbird. His beloved Marley, a therapy and search and rescue dog, provided much comfort over the years at The Gatehouse, 5 South, and local nursing homes. He loved his job at Divine and the people he worked with. He spent his yearly vacation at the Outer Banks with his family, and enjoyed traveling all over the world with his wife. He adored his grandchildren, and shared many special memories with his family. He was a bright light in this world to all who met him.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are a son, Matthew (Valeriya) Earhart of Tallahassee, Fla.; a daughter, Laura (Casey) Lowmiller of South Williamsport; two brothers, John West of South Williamsport, and Stanley West of New Castle, Del.; a sister Janina Yates of New Castle, Del.; and two grandchildren, Tommy and Michael Lowmiller. He was predeceased by his father, Edward West, and Marley.
Due to Covid-19 services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
