Diane T. Mock

Diane T. Mock, 87, formerly of Montoursville, died on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, at Universal Health Care of King, N.C.

She was born on Oct. 14, 1933, in Williamsport, the daughter of Samuel C. and Evelyn L. (Miller) Thatcher.

She obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from Penn State in English, and a teaching certification, and also a Master’s Degree from Penn State in Special Education. She loved her teaching career and loved her special education kids and she especially liked taking them on field trips. She also met her husband, Walter L. Mock, Jr., at Penn State in the clarinet section of one of the feeder bands for the Blue Band.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Walter L. Mock, Jr.

Surviving is a son, John D. (Jean) Mock, of Harrisburg; daughter, Susan L. (David) Allison; and five grandchildren, Ashley, David, and Ross Allison, and James and John Mock.

There will be a funeral service Saturday, Jan. 2, 2020, 2 p.m. at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, PA 17754. The family will have the URL for the funeral service video online.

There will be a walk-through viewing on Saturday, 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Following Pennsylvania Department of Health guidelines, masks and social distancing will be required.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

A memorial service will also be held at 4 p.m. on 1/2/21, at Triad Christian Fellowship, 2378 Darwick Road, Winston Salem, NC 27127.
