Stephanie Diane Updegraff

On Monday, Nov. 30, 2020, Stephanie Diane Updegraff, best friend, loving wife, and mother of 3 children took her final breath at the age of 60.

Stephanie came into this world Oct. 16, 1960 to Mildred and Thomas Cummins. In Aug. 1960 she married Jimmy Updegraff after they had met in Texas. They went on to raise their three children together; James, Areta, and Amy.

Stephanie had an undeniable love for her family, life in all of its glory, and animals (especially horses). She was charming, witty and had the ability to light up any room she was in. She had many jobs during her life, but her most important job by far was being a loving mother and best friend to her family. Her favorite pastime was being there for her children and when she wasn’t doing that she loved napping with her grand-dogs and watching Eastern Bluebirds from her porch.

Stephanie was preceded in death by her first child, Tonya; her mother, Mildred; and father, Thomas. She is survived by her husband Jimmy; her three children, James, Areta, and Amy; her sisters Jerri and Sandra; her niece Kamra; her niece’s children, her grand-pets and several in-laws, nieces and nephews.

There will not be a funeral or service for Stephanie, but there will be a celebration of her life some time in 2021. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you make donations to Heroes Helping Horses | Horses Healing Heroes. You can contact them by calling (570) 975-4991 and ask for Mr. Rob Schnars. Additionally, donations can be made to Elysian Fields Equestrian Center, but when made make sure to notify them it is for 6H.
