John R. Chapman, 75, of Williamsport, died Aug. 13, 2021 at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport.
He was born Jan. 13, 1946 in Montoursville, the son of the late Arthur L. and Myrtle (Reeder) Chapman.
John was a Vietnam Army veteran, retired as an over-the-road truck driver and had previously worked for Conrail. He enjoyed fishing in both fresh and salt water, clamming and loved hunting. One of his favorite hobbies was woodworking and he had been a Little League baseball and softball coach.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.
Surviving is his wife of 55 years, the former Donna L. Fink; a son, John R. (Cynthia) Chapman Jr. of Ridgeland, S.C.; a daughter Pamela D. (Steven) Gallew of Montoursville; three brothers, Bud, James and Gary Chapman; a sister, Roxanne Gibbs; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A viewing for family and friends will be from 4 - 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2021 at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
