Ann E. Lamade of Williamsport passed away at home on Wednesday, April 2, 2022.
She was born on May 8, 1928, in Buffalo, N.Y., growing up in Selinsgrove, Pa. She was the only child of Ernest and Anne Yorty. She was married to John Budd Lamade, who predeceased her in 1960.
Ann graduated from Susquehanna University, summa cum laude, prior to receiving her MA in English from Radcliffe College (Harvard) in 1951. She was a devoted teacher, first at Chambersburg High School, then at Lose Elementary School for 29 years. Her other great love was for dogs ó she raised prize-winning Italian Greyhounds and Doberman Pinschers, as well as teaching obedience courses for many years. She was a passionate reader and enjoyed building an extensive library.
She is survived by three sons: John of Medina, Ohio. Charles of Williamsport; Daniel of Williamsport, plus five grandsons and four great-grandchildren.
In keeping with her wishes, funeral arrangements will be private, with interment at Wildwood Cemetery.
